There is no single class action lawsuit against MyChart. MyChart is the patient portal made by Epic Systems, and the privacy cases people hear about were filed against individual hospitals that put Meta Pixel or Google tracking code on their own portal login pages. Right now the Cone Health settlement pays an equal share of $1,765,000 with no proof required, and claims are due October 5, 2026. Wellstar Health System patients have until November 10, 2026.
Why each lawsuit names a hospital, not Epic
Each health system runs its own copy of the portal and decides what code sits on its website. The suits allege those systems let tracking pixels disclose patient activity and health information (log-ins, appointment pages, form entries) to Meta and Google without consent. So every case and fund belongs to one hospital group, and a patient who used two systems’ portals can be a class member in both.
MyChart settlements still taking claims
When we checked the official settlement websites in September 2026, three portal tracking deals still had open deadlines.

How to tell which hospital case covers you
You qualify through the hospital whose portal you logged into, during that case’s dates.
- Look at the portal login page or app. It shows the health system’s name and logo, which is the defendant you need.
- Compare your dates of use with the class period on that settlement website.
- Find your notice. To submit a claim online, Cone Health’s form asks for the login ID and PIN printed on it; without one, mail the PDF claim form by the deadline. Our guide to joining a class action covers the rest.
Closed patient portal settlements (no late claims)
- Kaiser Permanente: $46 million (up to $47.5 million) for tracking on signed-in pages and apps from 2017 to 2024. Claims closed March 12, 2026.
- Mass General Brigham: $18.4 million over cookies and pixels, with payments of up to $100.
- Advocate Aurora Health: $12.225 million for about 2.5 million people, capped at $50 each, after it removed trackers from its website and portal.
- MemorialCare: $750,000; claims closed August 21, 2026.
Is there a class action lawsuit against MyChart’s maker, Epic?
Yes, but it isn’t a privacy payout case. On March 9, 2026, the American Association of Disability Justice and two patients filed a proposed class action against Epic Systems in the Western District of Texas, claiming the portal fragments records across systems and blocks disabled users. No settlement exists. Particle Health’s antitrust suit against Epic is a business dispute, not legal action patients can claim in.
If you used Cone Health’s portal, file before October 5. Wellstar patients have until November 10. For any other class action lawsuit against MyChart hospitals, check your health system’s name against our data breach and privacy settlements list, and only file through the official settlement administrator.
Common questions
Is there really a class action lawsuit against MyChart?
Not against the portal itself. The privacy settlements are against hospitals that ran tracking code on their portal pages, such as Cone Health, Wellstar, and Kaiser Permanente. Each one has its own fund and deadline.
How do I apply for a MyChart settlement?
You file with the settlement for your hospital, on its official website. Enter the ID and PIN from your notice, or mail the paper form before the deadline. No proof of harm is needed in the Cone Health deal.
How much will a MyChart privacy lawsuit pay?
Usually a small equal share. The fund is split among valid claims after attorneys’ fees and costs, so more claims mean a smaller cash payment. Advocate Aurora capped payments at $50, and Mass General Brigham at $100.
